Great Time Had By All

ruds Essex
Review Submitted: August 23, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We very much enjoyed our time at the villa and even after two weeks none of us wanted to come home.
Our family was perfectly suited to the villa layout; Mum and Dad in the master bedroom, the two kids sharing a spacious second bedroom and the Grandparents in the self-contained pool-side en-suite bedroom.
The large ground floor living area included everything we needed and expected to a high specification; including all the UK channels on the TV where CBBC and the Disney channel provided entertaining rest bites from the sun for the kids.
We ate our meals outside on the ground floor balcony - making good use of the BBQ - where shade is available via a wind-up canopy. This is one of four terraces/outside areas - all at different levels - ensuring access to the Spanish sun at all times of the day. The pool area was where we spent most time. Either in the pool or on the loungers around it. The pool proved an ample size with all six of us in at the same time on many occasions.
Away from the villa we were only a few minutes walk away from the beach; a mile and a half of wonderful soft, clean sand and during our stay wonderfully fun waves. We went to the beach nearly everyday always ending up in one of the many on-the-beach-huts for a beer and an ice cream in the early evening. There was a good choice of restaurants and bars on the beach front and up on the main road - all very local - and we also ventured in to Torrevieja a couple of times by taxi for around 10 euros.
We also spent the bulk of a couple of days at the very local water park and one of us also found Sky TV in a local Irish bar to watch the cricket!
Owner's Response: We are pleased you enjoyed your stay in 'our holiday home in the sun' You are welcome back any time..

Lee & Mykah's Honeymoon

We Love Villa Oviedo! South East England
Review Submitted: October 24, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We would like to say sorry to the owners for the delay in putting our review on this wonderful Villa.

The villa is set in the perfect position, close to all you will need for the perfect holiday! completely private from passing traffic other than the other residants if they are staying at that time! We were left totally alone as we had no neighbours the whole week.

The villa is exceptionaly clean and tidy and has everything a couple or family may need. As it was just the two of us we stayed in the main villa and used the down stairs room for changing ready for the pool.

The pool is wonderful! lovely for an early morning swim to wake up and a nice refreshing dip after a day on the beach.

The Beach is a 2 minute walk down the hill, to a few very handy and very friendly beach bars, Blondies being our favourite! Most days we enjoyed a cold beer and good food here. The beach is cleaned every morning and with clean clear sea is the perfect place for a relaxing day in the sun!

We enjoyed many an evening meal in one of many wonderful restaurants in La Mata. Please visit the Xu Palace Chinese restaurant as i can say this was the best Chinese i have ever tasted! For a lovely steak and a show of Tango dancing visit Tangos Steak house on a friday evening (but make sure you book as it gets very busy!), for a lunchtime treat stop of at Zana Kebabs YUM!!! and lastly but most certainly not least..... Please visit Sofias World! We had a special Honeymoon meal there the table was decorated for us by the staff with a card from all of them! The food is wonderful as is the hospitality we were shown top marks here!!

I can honestly say we WILL be revisiting Villa Oviedo again and would recommend anyone looking at this review to call and book now!!

Kind Regards

Lee & Mykah Baker xx

We all really enjoyed our holiday, our second stay, in this beautiful well equipped sunny villa. Our party consisted of six (four adults and two children) and the size of the property plus its 4 patio's and pool area we were all easily accommodated.
Helpful and friendly property managers keep this place well maintained and equipped right down to some reading books and DVD's. You can choose to spend your time relaxing and reading a book on a sunny patio or in the shade on one of the other quiet and private terraces. Alternatively (and particularly if you've got kids) you'll probably be splashing around in the wonderful pool ). This will be inbetween taking the short walk to the stunning sandy beach, or sampling a cold drink at one of the many beach bars.
Everything is within easy walking distance so is ideal for those without the use of a vehicle (supermarket is 5min, main beach is 5min and a surprising number of restaurants to walk to in the evening considering the Villa is in such a quiet location.

I fully recommend a holiday in this villa.

Villa Oviedo - Torrevieja

Fontenoy London
Review Submitted: August 26, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
A great property, quiet and private. Plenty of room for six people, and with the pool it makes the holiday that much more relaxing, as the La Mata beach can be quite crowded in the mornings when all the Spanish turn up. Happily they all leave again around 1pm so the beach is almost empty, and they dont start to drift back until 5'ish!
Local supermarket is great, better value than UK.
All appliances work, could do with a dishwasher though, especially if there's six of you.

Our Summer Holiday

Mooky Avimore Scotland
Review Submitted: January 30, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
The family and I are just back from a fabulous Winter break in Villa Oviedo. A great place, and we had good weather. (not swimming weather in January unless you have a 10 year old as we do..he still swam in the Mediterranean). The villa is lovely, warm and cosy in the evenings with central heating and wood burning stove. We cant wait to come back in the summer. The beach is so close. We found loads of restaurants to wander out to at night, and the boardwalk running alongside the beach is a good walk into La Mata for local market etc.
Villa large, very clean and well furnished. Highly recommended.

Review Submitted: January 10, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
My Family booked Villa Oviedo for our holidays and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa exceeded our expectations, It really is big with lots of outdoor space. (in shade and in sun) The pool is fantastic and we also made the most of being able to walk to the beautiful beach. Supermarkets, bars, restaurants are all within walking distance as advertised. The Villa was exceptionally clean and well equiped. Thank You very much we look forward to a return visit.

First impressions of the villa were good, seemed to be very clean, well laid out and had all the neccessaties that a family would require.
It has 3 lovely terraces and the bonus of your own pool, although the steps leading down to the pool were extremely dangerous when wet.
Unfortunately, within a couple of days we began to feel abit let down.
The villa was covered in ants, both inside and out.
The downstairs room was particularly musty, and there was the sound of construction work on a daily basis.
On a good note the agent, Steve, was extremely helpful throughout the whole stay.
We loved the fact that it was very close to the beach and there was enough of a variety of restaurants and bars.
The area has very steep roads so we would personally not recommend this villa for the elderly or disabled.

Lovely villa, ideal location for family holiday.

We have just returned from a two week holiday with our four children which we thoroughly enjoyed. The agent provided an excellent service from the airport, providing two cars to collect us and even offering a lift to the supermarket so that we could stock up. The villa was clean and on the whole well maintained (although there were some broken tiles on the stairs which looked a bit shabby given the 'luxury' spec.) The villa was very well equipped with books and DVD's and even a baby's stroller which we found invaluable for carrying groceries!! The pool was excellent. Our teenagers enjoyed having their own en-suite room with separate entrance in the basement. This room would not be suitable for younger children as it opens onto poolside. The agents provided an excellent information folder on things to do and places to eat. We didn't hire a car & the bus service was good. A return trip to Torrevieja cost only one euro. The markets in Torrevieja and La Mata were really good with some great bargains to be had.Well worth visiting was the water park in Torrevieja which the children loved, although it was expensive.Getting there by bus involved travelling by bus to Torrevieja then catching another bus from outside the bus terminal to 'Carrefour' (also where the bowling and cinema are) and from there a 10 minute walk.On reflection we should have taken the agents advice and got a taxi!! Overall, La Mata is a lovely place for families, quiet but with plenty of bars and restaurants and a stunning beach. The villa was very comfortable and we would certainly recommend it and consider a return visit.

Great Choice - Fab Holiday

Biggles Surrey England
Review Submitted: August 17, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
LOCATION - excellent. The villa is located in a peaceful residential area close to the beach. An early morning walk from the villa into La Mata along the boardwalk each morning was how we started our day. The beach had been cleaned and looked splendid.
VILLA - spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped, no attention to detail has been spared and the beds were very comfortable too! A choice of three terraces makes this property quite unique - both sun and shade can be found all day long at this villa. The middle terrace housed a fabulous gas b-b-q and overlooked the pool.
POOL - this was beautifully maintained and very welcoming - there was even a supply of "toys" for the children. After a round of golf we headed back to the pool at the villa to relax and enjoy the late afternoon/early evening sunshine,
Restaurants and bars - wide variety available to suit everyone.

Our experience

Review Submitted: August 5, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We had a very pleasant holiday in the villa but there were a few drawbacks.
The outdoor shower and the pool had to have some remedial work done to them during our visit. A leak had occurred. This necessitated the shower to be off for a couple of days; likewise the pump in the pool.

There were ants in the villa!

The electricity supply tripped, necessitating two visits by a ( very helpful) electrician. Our air con was of f for most of a day and the ceiling fan in the living room had to be removed when it short-circuited, emitting smoke! This was inconvenient and did scupper our plans for one day. Apparently Spanish electrics are notorious!!!

We only used the two upstairs bedrooms which were very comfortable but the downstairs one did smell very musty and I was glad not to have been sleeping in it.

Otherwise: clean, comfy, great tv, nice pool with toys and attractive decor.
Owner's Response: I am pleased to note that these guests were still happy to rate our Villa 4/5. The issues with the pool and electrics were all part of the same problem. To be clear the shower they refer to is the outdoor 'pool shower' which was turned off while the pool maintenance company made the repairs to the pool. The family bathroom and en-suite were not effected. The problem was a burst pipe in the pump cupboard which had sprayed water into the electrics which then tripped the house electrics. Our 'local' managers responded quickly and were able to call out an Electrician.
