Perfect family getaway

I can highly recommend the Villa. I have just returned from a week's holiday with my family, 3 generations covering ages from 19- 82 and the villa was suitable for all. It was very clean and all essentials were provided. One of the party was using a wheelchair but the villa was very wheelchair friendly. The village is only a five minute stroll away and there are many resturants to choose from. Plenty of supermarkets if you want to stay at the villa for a barbeque and a lovely beach 10 minutes from the villa. The maids came midweek and the gardner turned up but both were very discreet and in no way interupted our holiday. Very enjoyable and perfect location.

We were a party of 4couples and 2 children staying at the casa berlin and it was everything that was said in owners direct.it has plenty room for everyone. The pool area with garden is lovely and it is quite a big pool for a villa, nice for a dip.the sports room in the basement is good for the kids to get out the sun for a while (my grandson is beating me at table tennis now) There is a nice 5min walk in to the town of Luz and beach so the villa is in an excellant position We would recomment the villa to family and friends and would love to go back ourselves it is a beautiful villa and a good base to visit other parts of portugal.

We had a lovely holiday and a great time - there were 8 of us sharing the villa but it didn't feel full up. The facilities here were excellent - the 2 youngest kids used the games room which was alos good for the adults to coll down if the pool seemed like too much effort! Luz is a lovely village with everything we needed although the distance to the beach is deceptive!

Great holiday villa - Praia du luz

We (2 families) had an excellent time at Casa berlin, Praia da Luz.
The villa was more than well equiped within easy walking distance of Luz centre.
The villa was clean and well maintained. The gardens were beautiful and again well looked after. The pool was excellent, a well needed cool down with all that sun!
With such a lovely base, we did not have to travel far, but did venture out to Lagos and Burgar. Lagos was definitely worth a visit for the children to spend their euros and burgar had a lovely beach. It was great to just be lazy and soak up the sun by the pool in the lovely garden.

We tried most of the restaurants in luz, either at lunch or dinner and can reccomend O Pocco, good food and excellent views. Again the restaurant in the fort has excellent views and the food was good.
The restaurant on the end of the beach was also lovely, great service and something for everyone to choose, the swings outside were also good to keep the children entertained whils the adults enjoyed a jug or two of sangria!

We all tried out the water sports, the Flyfish and the Rings that get pulled along by a boat. it was only 10 euros per person for 15 minutes, which was long enough!

All of the communications with the owner has been excellent and I would definitely reccomend the villa to anyone wishing to holiday in portugal. I think that we will also return to Luz in the near future.

Overall an excellent holiday, my best ever yet!

A wonderful property

This is a fantastic property to rent and I would recommend it to anyone particularly 2 families sharing. There is plenty of space and each bedroom has its own balcony with table and chairs. The house is very well furnished and I honestly cannot think of anything that it did not have. The house was spotless and the maid service was just great. The manager, Laurinda, was very helpful and called to make sure everything was ok. The gardens were just lovely and there is plenty of shade round the house. The house is about 10 minutes from Luz and it is a lovely stroll on a summer's evening. My husband really enjoyed the barbecue area and it was just lovely sitting out and relaxing in the evenings. We even had a barbecue breakfast!! The only disappointing thing is that the house is already rented out for the same period next year!! I cannot recommend this property enough and hope to rent it again in the future.

Casa Berlin

Adlington Lancashire, England
Review Submitted: August 9, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Our stay at the Casa Berlin can only be described as fantastic.

The property was as we expected - and as described on the website - the only problem was the taxi driver not being able to find it....but that was the taxi driver not the directions!

The property was still being cleaned when we arrived but that was due to our flight arriving earlier. The level of cleaning was excellent, with cleaners in once a week and the towels changed 3 times. The property overall was very well maintained and the handyman came promptly to fix any problems. Outside the poolman and gardener both came once a week to maintain the external areas.

The property is slightly out of Praia da Luz but the walk in is only about 10 mins and, once we found the alternative route, was a lovely stroll. Praia was a lovely resort and we sampled a few of the local restaurants - the villa had numerous takeout menus available. The village is quite hilly and i would recommend a car particularly if there is anyone with walking problems. We would recommend the Pizzeria Delicia and the Chinese restaurant. The Bull also did excellent food, as did The Duke. The Baptista supermarket has all the food stuffs required but the car made it easier to shop at the Intermarche in Lagos.

The party was a mixed age group and we found plenty to amuse ourselves - the beach is beautiful and provides water sports for all ages.

We visited Lagos - easily accessible with a car - and that had an abundance of restuarants and shops as well as a beautiful marina.

Overall, the villa was everyting we expected and more, Praia da Luz was a lovely village, and the owners Chris and Ann provided an excellent service - keeping us informed at all stages......many, many thanks....and we hope to book again for next year.

Just returned from a week's stay at Casa Berlin. The Villa was faultless and the location excellent - very quiet but only a short walk to Luz and the beach - a real joy to stay in. All the facilities were superb and what comfortable beds! We will be returning!
