Magic!

This place is magical. Just to sit in the evenings on the terrace with the sounds of the cuckoos and nightingales is a real treat. The garden was a blaze of colour and has a great swimming pool and shady areas for afternoon siestas and reading. The house is well equipped and comfortable and is especially good for people who wish to be out of the humdrum of working life.

Retreat in Italy

We have been to Vasciano many times, and hope to return before too long. Its attraction is two-fold. First it is a lovely old farmhouse conversion set in peaceful and pleasant wooded hill country, its charm enhanced by arriving up a steep and very rutty hill laneway. Secondly it is within easy one-day excursion distance to several delightful,unspoilt,art-filled Italian towns.

The house is, of course, old, with individuality, narrow stairs, thick walls and so on. The accommodation is not large, nor in any sense sumptuous. The rooms are quite small. But it seems to us perfectly and very tastefully equipped and decorated, with everything that one could need, and a very strong feeling of homliness, with books on shelves, and pictures on walls., Both house and grounds display evidence of personal and individual care, and are well maintained.

The description of the site and its access routes is very satisfactory.

We would certainly recommend this property to a friend.

We enjoyed Vasciano immensely. Vasciano is a peaceful, warm, welcoming and beautiful place. The house has been most sympathetically restored and exudes loving care and attention to detail Everything was spotlessly clean and scrupulously maintained. The garden is ample and beautifully landscaped. Sitting at the table in the veranda, enjoying leisurely meals, the stunning view, the delicate flowers, the butterflies, the changing sunlight and shade was a wonderfully relaxing experience. Our children loved the pool, the pizza oven, the barbecue and the lizzards. The house is fantastically well equipped.
Alltogether, an idyllic place to stay for those who want to get away from it all.

The farmhouse has great character and is very sympathetically furnished. With a lovely garden with stunning views over the valley this house is perfect for anyone looking for a holiday house in the Umbrian hills.

The charm of this beautiful place keeps drawing us back up the bumpy strada bianca and three generations of our family, from toddler to grandpa, have just enjoyed another brilliant week - swimming, walking in the hills, exploring old villages and sometomes just sitting and looking! Within easy reach of some superb restaurants (do try Ristorante Calagrana in Spedillichio) it is in a very rural setting with lizards, fire-flies, nightingales, frogs and, for good measure, a few snakes and scorpions! The building is as lovely as its description, clean and well maintained set in a lovingly tended garden with superb views across the valley.

This was a stunningly beautiful property.. the gardens, the pool and the surrounding area with incredible views! Pictures really can't do it justice. The house was quite comfortable/complete (5 of us) and the local agent was very helpful & resourceful.
It is easy access to the train station to all points in Italy. It is also possible to just drive to Siena, Florence, Assisi & many Tuscany locations. We would go back in a minute!
