August 2009 x 2 adults, 2 boys aged 10 & 11

Well i can quite honestly say we absolutely loved our stay in Bulgaria, the apartment was fantastic, it had everything you could possibly need and more, it was clean and had loads of room, the added bonus was it was quite shaded during the day so it was nice to sit on the patio and cool off from the sun, we went with my sister and her family who stayed in another of the apartments on site, they couldn't sit on there balcony during the day as it was too hot so they used ours. we hardly had to use the air conditioning, i think it was the best apartment on the site and would definitely recommend it. the shuttle service was regular and cheap, 5 Lev for an all day pass (under £2.50) and there was always Mr Bean to taxi us about when needed, all the staff are really friendly, the on site bar and restaurant was reasonable, and very clean, the food was also very good, it was a shame the sky bar wasn't open, we would have definitely have stayed on site more if we could have had a drink up there.
We hired a car for a week, no need for theme parks, you get all the scares you could possible imagine driving, as a passenger i spent most of the time with my eyes closed, they all drive like they are on a suicide mission, complete maniacs, we did find some lovely beaches, Obzor & Bourgas being our favourites, sunny beach is nice but very very crowded, We took the kids to both water parks, they liked the furthest one best but very busy.
Khans tent is a must, the views are spectacular and the entertainment is very good, well worth a visit, The boat inn was highly recommended, that was probably our worst meal, the service & food were rubbish, for a really good Bulgarian night there is a restaurant close called Becco (something like that), belly dancers on the tables, singing & dancing, it was the strangest place we have ever been, chickens and rabbits in cages, brilliant night, the roasted pork was excellent, also recommended was Djannys which was nice but we preferred Troya's which is next door.
The apartments started to fill up on our 2ND week and there wasn't enough sunbeds for everyone which would be one of our only moans, also even though you could walk to Sunny beach i think it would be quite dangerous as there aren't any pavements, especially at night, a taxi from Sunny beach only cost us 20 Lev which is under £10.
Thanks Nicky & Steve + all the team for making our holiday a memorable one right from when enquired about booking.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write the review! So happy to hear you had a brilliant time!
Unfortunetly, the Sky Bar did'nt open this year, due to staffing issues, but all being well, will be open for next season. The bar downstairs is adequate, but nothing beats the views of Sunny Beach and Nessebar from upstairs!!
I totally agree with the driving in B.G...you were very brave hiring a car, but is handy, to see more of the country. As you say, "Mr. Bean" (our apartment and transfer manager ), is always at hand to taxi anytime.
We will be providing sunbeds for the apartment for next season, for busy periods, when extra beds are required.
Thankyou for looking after the apartment, you know you are all welcome back anytime!!!
Nicky & Steve. :-)

Lovely Apartment

Having lived in Spain for 3 years I wanted to experiencing a different culture, but with the same attributes as Spain, mainly sunshine, sea, good food and drink. I chose Bulgaria and Sunny Beach because of all the good reviews from people I knew.

We are a family of 8, and needed 2 apartments to stay in, after much searching on the internet we found Nicky and Steve's apartment, It looked fantastic and with the peace and quiet of not being in the centre of the resort.

Nicky & Steve were fantastic from the start, great communication and so helpful. They arranged transfers from the airport with Mr Bean who is a real character!! and on arrival there was fruit, biscuits and a couple of bottles of chilled wine, much needed after the journey !!

The Apartment is lovely, well kitted out with eveything you need for a holiday, the complex was amazing, fantastic pool and great views. The only downside of the complex was that the shop and sky bar had been shut down due to lack of use, we decided to eat the first night in the restaurant at the complex, to be honest if your a large party I would give it a miss, its seems the chef can not cope with cooking for more than 2 people at a time !!

The next day we took the shuttle bus (5 lev for a day ticket) to Sunny Beach itself, I would say it was very disapointing, it was over crowded and very very touristy, we could not get on the beach as you had to pay for bed chairs and brolleys, which is quite normal apart from the fact normally there is a part of the beach that is free.. but not here!!

We found a beach the following day about 5 mins away called St Vlas which was much nicer and perfect!!

Bulgaria has a reputation of being a cheap destination, however speaking to locals this has drastically changed over the past 2 years and now unless you like the taste of bad beer it is about the same as Spain or the UK, in fact the first bar I drank in I was charged £8 for one drink !! (bars can try and rip you off!!) The food was much the same where ever you eat, after 2 weeks you can get quite bored of pork and chicken, and some vegetables would of been nice ! but you get to know where to go to eat and drink after a few days !!

Weather fantastic !!

To sum the holiday up, the apartment and Nicky and Steve was faultless, however I think for value for money, food, beaches and the hospitality, you can not beat Spain, and so far I have not found many places to match it !!

Owner's Response: Thankyou for your honest review.
We totally agree with you regarding the price hike, especiallly in SunnyBeach in some of the bars! Also with Sterling being weak at the present, the value is,nt as good against the lev. Its worth pricing around, to find the places were the food and drink are still very resonable.
All being well the shop and sky bar will be open for next season.
"Mr. Bean", our apartment manager, does go to great lenghts to ensure the comfort of all our guests, very reasuring for us to know that he's there, for our guests, 24/7!!!
We hope you will give "The Black Sea Coast" another try, you know you are welcome back to our apartment anytime!!

holiday July 2009

Happy holiday 2009 Berkshire, Reading
Review Submitted: August 6, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We had a great holiday. I went with my partner and triplet 15year old teenagers. The apartment is peaceful and my partner and I really enjoyed this and relaxed and slept well. My teenagers loved Sunny Beach and all the life it has to offer. We would drop them down and collect later. So we all got what we wanted out of the holiday. We had a car and I would reccomend this as the roads between the villa and the town are not safe to walk on at night no pavements or streetlights" Bulgarian mercedes and 4WD drivers are also psychotic with a serious death wish.... LOL! and the beach is too far to walk in the blistering heat. We explored Old Nessebar and St Vlas. We loved the beach and the marina. The bar on the far side of the marina was romantic and very 5* which we enjoyed away from the kids. For £25 per day you can rent one of the four Luxury Beach tents, individual private tented environments. Its money so well spent... even has mains power and WIFI included!
The apartment was clean and just as it shows in the pictures. We have left detailed information in the guest book with what restaurants we enjoyed and where to find the best supermarket. The restaurants we mention are very good value. The people are very friendly and offer a good service.
My kids loved the waterpark that is nearest to the apartment only 5mins in a car.
the kids wanted to do the bar crawls... £5 for 5 watered down free drinks... we gave them £5 per meal and £5 per drinks for lunch and for supper and this worked well... they were safe and wellbehaved. we found that giving them this freedom helped them develop social skills with multi national elements however we would not let a single teen go on their own... we were very worried about their welfare but set 12.30 as a time limit and they witnessed no incidents or issues of any type.
The support on site was excellent. the locals though a bit abrupt were never rude....
I would recommend this apartment for a lovely holiday and would definitely go back.
Thankyou.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write your review! Great to hear you all had a good holiday. We must try the "Luxury Beach Tents" ourselves! As you said the drivers can be unsympathetic to pedestrians, we always advise people to make use of the shuttle bus provided or it can be a nice dander away from the road, cross country to the beach. Although, who wants to walk when its very hot!! Thanks for leaving the coments and advise in the guestbook, always very usefull for future guests. Hope to see you back at the apartment in the future.........Nicky & Steve. :-)

The apartment and complex was beautiful, clean, well maintained and, although the shop and sky bar were not open during the quiet peried in which we visited, this did not impact on our wonderful experience. All the staff and resisdents were extremely helpful and friendly. This place is a peaceful haven from the very busy Sunny Beach.
Thanks!

The Bell's family holiday 2008

Review Submitted: April 7, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
We stayed at this property on the second week of our holiday in Bulgaria as our own in Sozopol wasn't quite completed.
I would like to say that the help and organisation right from the initial telephone conversation with the owners to the transfer and facility information was first class, I have learn't many good things from this rental for my own
property.
The apartment is very well located above sunny beach/Nessebar and away from the hussle and bussle, near the pool ,with excellant equipment, furniture ,very clean, and well maintained.
The shuttle bus which runs from the apartments is cheap and ideal for travelling in to sunny beach and Nessebar or just stocking up on groceries. The on-site restaraunt is very good and serves very nice food but I think they should try to cater for more "snack type" meals which are more appropriate for morning/mid day and more suitable for children. The beaches and water parks are superb in the area and Nessebar at night is a must.
There isn't much else I can say other than book it and enjoy !

We stayed in Nicky and Steve's apartment in June 2007 and had a second visit in June 2008.One of the larger, corner apartments very comfortable and plenty of room, it was great for my husband, who has walking difficulties, we did'nt have to worry about stairs!... Although somehow he was able to manage the steps up to the sky bar!! The apartment was spotlessly clean and we loved where it was situated. The owners were able to arrange transport to and from the airport, at a very reasonable cost. The complementry welcome pack was much appreciated, as we arrived on a late flight. We loved the Complex as the staff were very friendly. The shop is well stocked and the food was extremely good in the restaurant. The mini bus was great, to get, to and from Sunny Beach, only 5 minutes drive. To be honest although we enjoyed Sunny Beach, it made us really appreciate the Nessebar View complex, as its so peaceful and there's no fighting over sun beds around the pool! We'll be booking for next year definately!!!!!
Having being in the travel business for thirtyfour years and experienced many apartments and hotels abroad, I must admit, I rate this apartment to be amongst the best I have stayed in!
I really cant find any fault!
One great advantage is that the owners, Nicky and Steve, gave us any information we required on the area, good resturants and places to visit, etc, ect.
They also have a good information book in the apartment and a selection of D.V.D's, for a quiet night in.
To be recommended!!!!
