Urlaubswoche im Oktober 2009

Review Submitted: October 18, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009

Owner's Response: Thank you so very much - the Llama arrived today - how I wish you could have been here... still it means you have to come back to meet Fernando & take him for a walk!

This is the google translation ...

This house is wonderful for two people - cozy and comfortable. The equipment is described, for initial supplies are provided. the bed is prepared and on arrival the fire was burning in the oven and Madge (one of the dogs) was waiting with a ball - it was immediately at home. Tansy and Mike are two wonderful hosts - thank you for that relaxing week. We like to come at any time. Sabine and Jurgen We recommend this house and the place full of people who seek peace and quiet, loves animals are (There are goats, pigs, donkeys, chickens, geese, cats and dogs on the property) and no in close proximity to the hustle and bustle. The baker in Boisville for breakfast baguette is 5 km away and easily reached by bicycle.

The perfect holiday retreat

Just returned from a fabulous stay in the Barn Apartment. Mike and Tansy are the perfect hosts and are able to give you advice on the best locations to visit and can also help with detailed maps. The accommodation is excellent, very comfortable and well equipped. I can see why Madge is mentioned in other reviews, you cannot help to get to know Madge as she loves to have a pal to play with. There is so much to see in Normandy, a week was not enough so we will definately go back again. The D Day beaches are a must, aslo Bayeaux. One thing to note, the accommodation is next to the church and the bells do ring throughout the night, might be a problem for light sleepers.
Owner's Response: The house used to be the farm for the church so we're right opposite. It's quite peculiar if the bells don't ring for whatever reason we don't sleep well, our room is the nearest to the bell tower, most of the time we don't hear them - they are like a heartbeat. Most folk hear them the first time d'angelis rings out then it becomes the norm.

Perfect Honeymoon in the Perfect Place

Joe & Laura Philadelphia PA USA
Review Submitted: July 30, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2008
We had an amazing honeymoon in Normandy, and we could not have been more pleased with the barn apartment. It was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed being able to cook in the evenings and enjoy the cozy surroundings. Tansy and Mike were wonderful hosts, and really assisted us with our daily sojourns into the Normandy countryside.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in planning a trip to the area; it is conveniently located to all the beaches and historic sights.
We are looking forward to returning not only to visit with Tansy and Mike, but also to see Madge the Jack Russell and Stavros the donkey, who always greeted us with us with enthusiam!
Owner's Response: Oh... thank you, we are so pleased to hear from you again and really do hope you will indeed come back.

Madge adores our visitors especially the ones that will play!

Stavros has been moved a field - we still hear him - but our new pygmy goat, Tin Tin, who was abandoned in the village and given to us by the Mayor is a huge colourful character almost makes up for Stavros a bit further away.

St Vaast La Hougue you visited has now been awarded UNESCO status, the visitor centre for the Park has been completed, the museums for the 65th anniversary all had a makeover and our beaches all been re-awarded blue flags... so there's plenty still to see & do.

Comfortable apartment in delightful surroundings

Review Submitted: August 19, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We spent a peaceful, relaxing 2 weeks in this delightful well equipped apartment. The location is superb - perfect for exploring the D-Day landing beaches, seeing the Bayeux tapestry and Mont St.Michel. We loved waking up to the sounds of church bells, cockerels and Stavros the donkey. Another highlight were the fresh eggs laid by Tansy and John's chickens for breakfast. Tansy and John were helpful, friendly hosts. Another highlight was the availability of Sky TV - no need to miss any of your favourite programmes!!
Owner's Response: we're in the heart of the village ... we're rural, that's for sure!

We are so very pleased you enjoyed your stay - I personally find it very difficult over the Easter period when the church bells are silent... the whole rythym of the day is somehow lost!

Stavros is possibly becoming one of the most talked about donkey's on the internet - he's even has his photos on Getty Images! He's a big stallion donkey living on his own in the field beside our house, he's convinced he belongs to us or at the very least is part of our life as he can see all the comings and goings, very gentle, somehow everyone that comes to stay is smitten by him.

If only all holidays were like this!

We have just got home from our stay in the barn apartment and we are missing it already! We were made to feel very much like we were in a home from home, and Mike & Tansy were exceedingly pleasant and generous hosts, always on hand if we needed anything but not at all forceful - the ideal balance!

The apartment itself was lovely, couldn't ask for anything more - it was really comfortable and there's plenty of room to stretch your legs at the end of a hard day's sunbathing! We are now thinking of installing a wet room in our garden...

As for location it's perfectly based for travelling anywhere in Normandy - really close to D Day beaches and only an hour or two drive from several really great cities or attractions.

Thanks to you both for a lovely stay and should the opportunity arise we would love to stay there again.

We stayed in the barn apartment for 2 weeks and enjoyed sightseeing in the Manche. The D day museums were particularly interesting. The apartment was very well equiped with a lovely wet room. Tansy and Mike and all the animals made us feel very welcome. Stavros the donkey appreciates a carrot from time to time.
Owner's Response: These were our first guests to our barn apartment so are particularly delighted to have had a great review from them... we hope to welcome many more couples just like these guys - they were perfect!

Wunderschöne Urlaubstage in der Normandie

Gerda und Andreas Bocholt, NRW, Deutschland
Review Submitted: October 15, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Owner's Response: I give the google translation here... but thank you so much - we very much enjoyed your visit... all our German visitors this year have been perfect guests!

The end of September we saw 14 beautiful vacation in Normandy. Under sunny skies and pleasant temperatures around 26-27 degrees, the days went by so quickly. Staying with Mike and Tansy was very beautiful and can be recommended without objection. The quiet yet central location of the apartment invites one hand, explore the many attractions of the region, but it does offer plenty of space for relaxation and recreation. We were welcomed very friendly and cordial to Mike and tansy. Both helpful and gave us great advice regarding excursions and restaurants. The apartment is bright, clean and very spacious. We felt from the beginning very well. Living in a rural area, we have enjoyed to the fullest, just as the ball game with batch. Our thanks also go on this path once again with Mike and Tansy for the good times and the friendly reception. This holiday home is an invitation to return again to this beautiful part of Normandy.
