Highly recommended

Review Submitted: March 31, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We were looking for an apartment to accommodate a couple and a single person in two bedrooms with separate access to bathroom and toilet. We also wanted to be fairly central and be able to self cater most of the time. This apartment answered our needs perfectly.

The owner has superb communication skills and was endlessly helpful in making sure that the apartment was suitable. The apartment is rather larger than it appears on the website and is very warm, indeed we turned off the radiators in the three main rooms and it was still warm! The furnishings are comfortable and clean, the kitchen well equipped - we cooked every day for a fortnight with no problems.

We would have no hesitation in recommending the property to friends although we would remind them that there is only one bathroom and one toilet which we think may limit the overall number of guests.

The property is very centrally placed, indeed almost in Parliament Square, and ideal for many public transport links - trams 2, 4 and 6, buses 15 and 115, trolleybuses 70 and 78 and metro line 2. If you are thinking of visiting Budapest and hiring a car, think again for the public transport system is superb and cheap - we bought a fortnightly ticket at 5950 Forints each (about 20 pounds or Euros).

Special note - there is a lovely cake shop round the corner - Szalays, and another on the main road. Do visit the local markets even if you aren't self catering - take bus 15 to Lehel Ter or Tram 2 to Fovam Ter and enjoy a leisurely browse. Make time for morning coffee and cake at the Hotel Astoria (we had hot chocolate which was delicious) where the bill will be less than you think. Otherwise just enjoy the wonderful sights, buildings and people who make Budapest one of our favourite cities. As you may gather we recommend this apartment very highly and would gladly return.

Apartment is in an excellent location on a quite street close to the parliament with very easy access to both metro and trams. We did walk to margaret island a couple of times as the bridge is at the end of the street, but it did get very hot in july and the trams are very handy never having to wait long. The apartment is very well equiped and is much larger than seems in photo's. There is a selection of dvd's and cd's, relaxing after a busy day sightseeing. The owner was very helpful and provided an information sheet with the keys about taxi's, travel passes and places to visit. If you buy a travel pass make sure you carry it with you as checks are made on the metro although we were never checked on the trams. We had a lovely stay in Budapest, we ate out every night and found the restaurants and service to be a very high standard.

We stayed for one week at the beginning of July 2009. We found the apartment was very well equipped and comfortable. It was very spacious in the traditional style of older buildings in Budapest. A cool haven from the 30C+ day temperature outside The location was very central being off the Parliament Square, with easy access to tram, trolley bus and metro transport. We had a lovely meal at Cafe Picard a few doors away. Thank you to the owner for all his help in making our stay so enjoyable. A memorable week!!
PS Public transport is completely free for EU citizens over 65 with photo identity required.

This apartment is one to be recommended to all, its location is perfect very central with all public transport outside the door. The property is clean and has all facilities one would need, it gives you a homly welcome after a day running around.
Close by are restaurants take outs and bars, one particular restaurant I would defenitly return to is Rockfort, which is just a block away, great food with low prices too:)

We had a very good stay at this place in Budapest.
Indeed very spacious, well-maintained and clean.
Totally equiped. Nothing to complain about.
We stayed for a week with our familiy (2 adults, 2 children) and everything was fine.
The apartment is very convenied located. Everything worth to visit in Budapest can easily be reached from this place.
Although it was located very close to the city centre it was a quit neightbourhood.
A very good choice for our stay in Budapest.

I went went to Budapest over Christmas to visit family with my boyfriend and his father. We wanted a spacious, clean apartment that was central to shopping public transportation. After finding this rental online, we contacted the owner to get more information. He was very polite and helpful, making sure to address all of questions. So we decided to book the apartment and sent in our deposit. A couple weeks before our trip, the keys arrived in the mail as promised.

Having never been to Budapest before, we weren't sure what to expect. But the apartment still far exceeded our expectations. It's huge, recently renovated, notably clean and furnished perfectly. Plus, the location truly made getting around the city easier.

I would absolutely recommend to anybody this apartment.
