Great appartment

Winoa Den Hoorn, The Netherlands
Review Submitted: April 14, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
I stayed in the appartment with my friend for 4 days and it was great. The property was clean, it included everyting we needed: bed sheets, linen, towels, hair dryer, even an iron and ironing board. The location is wonderful, everything is within walking distance and the Metro is very nearby. Special thanks to Alex, the property manager, for her wonderful welcome. A tip: rent a Smart (13 euros!) in Cascais and drive to Sintra. Take the nice route along the coast and you will see much wonderful scenery and Sintra is really the best with beautiful castles and palaces. We loved it!
Owner's Response: Thank you! It was a pleasure to have you here! Come back always! Alex

A perfect city getaway

Review Submitted: October 30, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
My partner and I have just returned from four days staying at this lovely apartment.

Alex was there to greet up and gave us useful advice on where to go including restaurants and places of interest in and around the city.

The apartment was very clean and the location was perfect. It made a great change to stay somewhere with a personal touch as opposed to a hotel. It was located in walking distance to all the main attractions and we would recommend the trip on the 28 tram to see the highlights of Lisbon.

We would definately recommend this apartment to friends and family and if we ever return to Lisbon we would stay here.

Thanks Alex.

Home away from home

Review Submitted: July 20, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This is a very nice flat with an excellent location for getting to know Lisbon. It's just a short walk from the Avenida stop for the airport bus and convenient for the Bairro Alto, the Baixa and Chiado - and everything else if you enjoy a bit of walking like we do. Everything is neat and very comfortable - all the necessary amenities are provided. The balcony is wonderful.

We had a lovely week. Thanks Alex.

Perfect base to explore Lisbon

Review Submitted: April 23, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
This comfortable apartment was everything my husband and I had expected - and some more. Everything we could need for a home from home was here, attention to detail making the difference between a space that was just "fine" to one which was special - providing for every necessity (to give you just an idea of what I mean, there was an umbrella in the hall, a water filter jug for the fridge, a CD player, a hairdryer, a fridge-freezer rather than simply a fridge etc etc); everything was scrupulously clean, and the owner Alex, very charming and helpful.
We were able to walk pretty much everywhere from here (we weren't in a hurry, and enjoyed the exercise!) and could dip into Biarro Alto life, without having to deal without the fallout. The apartment is close to the Botanic gardens, handy for the buses and trains, four minutes walk from a splendid viewpoint/park, and two minutes stroll to the "Hot Clube de Lisbon" for those who like their jazz authentic and on their doorstep! It's a stylish and pleasant retreat to return "home" to at the end of a busy city day - we were very happy with our stay.

Superb base for exploring Lisbon

David and Sue Loughborough, UK
Review Submitted: October 7, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We recently spent 4 days at this apartment on our first trip to Lisbon. The apartment is ideally located to reach all of the main areas of interest on foot with the conveniently sited Elavador da Gloria handy to get you back up the last hill at the end of the day.

Alex provided a very warm welcome and was able to provide a wealth of useful information on local facilities includng restaurants [of which there is a good selection within easy walking distance]. To these we would also add "Louro & Sal" on Rua Atalaia, next door to the very popular [and, hence, difficult to get in to without booking] "pep!acorda". Even closer to the apartment is "La Paparrucha", an Argentian grill with magnificent views over the city from the dining room and terrace.

The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable. Although compact, both the kitchen and bathroom provided everything we needed for our short visit.

We will certainly be returning to Lisbon and wouldn't hesitate to use this property again.

Airy and Beautiful!

This apartment is a work of art decorated by a person with real talent. Colorful, coordinated and comfortable. The location is very good, a short walk to the main street and a slightly longer trek to the assembly point for the Cityrama tours. The funiture is new and comfortable. Lisbon is clean, historic and best of all, the tourist attractions are far less crowded than Paris or London. Two doors down is an excellent Indian restaurant and the Hard Rock Cafe is a short walk into town. Tell the taxi to take you to the Hotel Botanica - it is across the street and the personnel there were very helpful even before we purchased afternoon half day tours. The veranda was decorated with nice flowers and a small table we used for meals. The view of the small square and the narrow streets entertained us daily. The kitchen is nicely equipped for light cooking including a microwave. The property manager, Alex, was a treasure and helped mightly including having a nice wine, cheesebread and fruit assortment on hand when we arrived (cost not included but just what we had requested). Highly recommended for a restful relaxing getaway in a very nice area. If we return to Lisbon, this property would be our first choice for a place to stay. Communication by email was quick and responsive.

Lovely apartment in the old area of Lisbon!

We have spend a week in this beautiful apartment.
We have had a very good time.
It is completely and lovely furnished with good beds and it has everything you need.
It also has a lovely balcony. It was very clean and the customer service was excellent.
The metro and bus are just at the end of the street. You can walk to the old city, to Bairro Alto and to the train station. It is easy to go to Belen by tram and to Estoril en Cascais by train.
We will come back! Thanks

I've spent 4 days in this beautiful, cosy apartment and I loved it. It's in the middle of the centre and you can do everything by feet. It's very close to good restaurants, shops, metro, Bairro Alto, railwaystation, etc. I would really recommend this apartment. It's full of light, very nice decorated and colourfull, clean and you have a great view from the sunny terrace. And customer service was perfect. Thanx!
