A lovely house in a lovely town.

Review Submitted: November 14, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We stayed in Casa Nautica from the 23rd of October to the 6th of November. The house is very central but is in a quiet location, all the amenities of Tavira are within easy walking distance. The house is well equipped and comfortable and we found everything we needed there. Tavira is a lovely town with plenty of places to see and full of good restaurants. We went to the beach a few times, (temperature was in the high 70's in November!), miles and miles of sand. When we go back to Tavira we will book this house again. The owners were a delight to deal with and could not have been more helpful.

We have been visiting Tavira for over ten years, but had always stayed at the Vila Gale or Porta Nova hotels.
This was our first stay at Casa Nautica, and we were not disappointed.
The property is beautiful, immaculate, well equiped, a real home from home and perfectly located.
The restaurants also just get better and better, we visited the two new restaurants to us this trip, the Indian (Kohinoor) in the square, which was very good and A Ver Tavira which was excellent. Brisa Do Rio at the back of the Bica still remains our favourite though.
Casa Nautica helped make our holiday in Tavira a very special one, we will definitely return.

Superb location

Many years ago Tavira was for us a great discovery. Tavira was and is a unique and magical place: Living history with old and typical buildings, the location on the river, salt fields and dunes, the close Ilha Tavira with seemingly endless sandy beaches and clean water. And last but not least many traditional restaurants with great seafood.

The «Casa Nautica» we have not yet known. It was for us a genuine rediscovery. We are very enthusiastic. The central but quiet located house is lovely and fully equipped. We felt from the beginning at home. Even this superb location was part of our unforgettable and exciting vacation.

Thank you very much, Pauline & Alex!

Tavira Town House

Sleepless Norwich
Review Submitted: July 31, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The standard of the property is very high. You are welcomed by Susan who shows you round the property and quickly fills you in on local knowledge. It is good to have a local contact if needed. The kitchen is very well equiped and there are nice glasses in the cabinet - you are welcomed guest in a home.

It is fully air conditioned - comfortable beds. Nice touches - the picnic type boxes and freezer bag so you could take food to the beach. Beach umbrella etc Tavira is beautiful and the quality of light coming back through the cobbled streets in the evening is breathtaking. Wish we where still there and would highly recommended it to both couples and small families with older child/children (just because the stairs are steep)

Local food wonderful - people kind and very polite. Our favourite activity was getting the boat to the beach (Tavira Island) - seeing the storks from the waters edge) having a wonderful time - coming back - eating out then going to the square for the entertaiment - everything from theatre to wonderful folk groups.

Best Holiday we have had for years

Casa Nautica in Tavira .....a Mariner's Retreat!

Harvie Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Review Submitted: April 20, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
Casa Nautica is a most comfortable and so well equipped home from home. Tavira grows on you .....the river, boats, the colourfully tiled houses, the old castle, the cafes, the great coffee, the walks in the town centre, but more than all else, the friendliness of the townspeople. Watch the old folk gather together to pass the day and see the young ones in joyful groups and the families stroll in the park. Nothing better was there than to watch the world go by, to have tasty snacks and some great evening meals in one of the numerous small restaurants around town. Add to that, after a couple of days of doubtful weather,18 days of sun and real warmth ......in the first half of March !

Sure we need to compliment Susan, who looked after the property well and responded quickly to a couple of our needs, and Henrique's taxi (David driving) to and from the Faro airport.

We're sure you'd share our joys of your stay at Casa Nautica, in Tavira and the surrounding countryside. What about all those oranges on countless trees!

Owner's Response: We always endeavour to keep our second home to a high standard and are pleased when our guests appreciate it.
Tavira we agree is a delightful place to visit.

Christmas 08

Casa Nautica is a perfect place for a holiday in the sun. The central location means it's very easy to go off exploring around the historical Tavira town during the day and within easy walk of the plentiful restaurants at night.

Tavira itself is a really well-maintained and interesting little fishing town to wander around - with lots of markets, bars and restaurants. The Pousada in Tavira is a really swanky place to go for a cosy if pricey drink.

The many beautiful long sandy beaches are all merely a short drive away and since many are in conservation areas they do not have the ubiquitous high rises commonly found in other parts of the world.

The house itself is very well-equipped with all mod cons. And having private ensuite bathrooms to all the bedrooms means that there are no awkward waits in the early morning!

We spent Christmas 08 here and during our week the weather was glorious - warm sunny and we had a really wonderful time. We will definitely be returning.

our december holiday 2008

Deirdre & Eddie Dublin - Ireland
Review Submitted: December 23, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2008
This was our first non-hotel stay in Tavira, and it wont be our last. We were delighted with Casa Nautica - it certainly lived up to our expectations - it was a comfortable well- furnished and well-equipped house situated in the heart of the old town. It was very convenient to shops, restaurants etc., and a very nice italian pizza restaurant ''Mama Mia'' for those nights when you dont want to eat out or cook.
Our weather was somewhat mixed - I saw rain for the first time in Tavira but the house was well-heated and is very suitable for winter breaks. Looking forward to getting back next year!

OUR STAY OCTOBER 2008

Review Submitted: November 29, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
As frequent travellers to Tavira, this was our first non hotel stay and we were delighted! Far exceeded our expectations.
We found Casa Nautica a real home from home, clean, comfortable, well maintained, with everything we could possibly need.
Located right in the heart of town in a quiet location with local neighbours.
Nicely decorated and comfortable rooms.
Lovely little roof terrace, where we spent time each day, enjoying the sunshine, barbeque and al fresco dining.
Ideal location for easy access to local restaurants and amenities.
Local market great for fresh fish, meat, fruit and veg.
Warm welcome received from the local property agent.
We would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning soon.

My friends and I greatly appreciate staying in Casa Nautica for our holiday. The house is absolutely welcoming and fully equipped in an excellent location close to the center of the town and the port of embarkation to the wonderful Tavira Island. The homeowners are very kind and helpful. Well-recommended!

Our ideal holiday house

Review Submitted: July 3, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We spent an extremely enjoyable two weeks in Casa Nautica, a luxurious town house in a quiet square. The house is very well equipped for cooking, dining or just relaxing. It is ideally situated close to the town centre with its good restaurants and bars as well as the river ferryboat that takes you to the wonderful sandy beach.
It was cherry harvesting time during our stay and I ate the most delicious and cheap cherries almost daily from the local market, plus superb peaches and discovered several good local cheeses. What a treat. We barbecued on the roof terrace in the barmy evenings watching the sun go down over the roof tops finishing one if not two bottles of the local wine. It was very hot for the time of year (40c) and the air conditioning was a God send. We had some great trips along the Guadiana river, into the countryside and across the border to Spain. One of the most relaxing holidays we have spent abroad and we shall definitely be returning to Casa Nautica.

Owner's Response: We were delighted that our guests enjoyed their stay so much. Casa Nautica is in a great location as they found.
Market, shops, pavement cafes, restaurants and the river are all walking distance from the house.
East Algarve offers many interesting places to visit and Spain is only a 30 minute drive away.
