Things to do in Ringgenberg, Switzerland
Ringgenberg’s most notable attraction is its scenery, but the tiny village does have an old stone church and some medieval castle ruins which are worth visiting. There is also a tiny lake called Burgseeli. There are a few places were it is possible to go swimming in the local lake, although the water can be quite chilly. Better yet, take a pleasure steamer to Interlaken and enjoy the ever-changing scenery along the way.
The mountains high above Ringgenberg are quite high and steep and are only recommended for experienced hikers, but there are plenty of other gentler climbs and rambles around this lovely area.
The nearby Jungfrau region has 200 km (125 miles) of ski slopes some of which stretch for 12km (7 miles). As well as the winter sports in this area, you can experience Canyoning; rappelling, sliding and jumping down the waterfalls of these canyons. White water rafting, kayaking, hot air ballooning and mountain biking are all exciting activities to try out to.

The nearby town of Interlaken Ost can be reached by train from your villa in Ringgenberg in just 6 minutes. Running along the edge of the Brienzersee, once again the scenery is quite breathtaking. Enjoy exploring this quiet town and admire the views of the magnificent Jungfrau.
Follow in the footsteps of James Bond. His film ‘On her Majesty’s Secret Service’ was filmed right here on the Schilthorn. The cable car ride to the top takes 32 minutes, then enjoy the views from the revolving restaurant before descending on skis or on the cable car.
See Switzerland as it used to be in this lovely museum at Ballenberg. With more than 100 old homes and buildings relocated here from all over Switzerland, the old style gardens are a picture of colour. 250 old breeds of farm animals and demonstrations of local crafts make this a delightful day out.
