The famous ski resort of Zermatt is located in the next valley over from Saas Fee. It is considered an almost perfect resort for advanced skiers, and if you are hoping for a great night out or a peak at the Matterhorn, the trip over to Zermatt is well worth while.

Temperatures average -2˚C in the grip of winter, so packing some warm jumpers is essential if you are staying in a Saas Fee apartment. In summer, the weather is excellent, with temperatures of around 16˚C. The sun shine makes the glacier sparkle, adding to the unbelievable beauty of the landscape.

The closest airport to a Saas Fee apartment is Geneva International Airport (GVA) which lies 140 miles to the east. There are frequent trains from Geneva to the towns of Brig or Visp, both of which have hourly busses direct to Saas Fee, so despite its remote and wild location, reaching self catering Saas Fee accommodation is not as hard as it could be!
