San Luis is a fantastically laid back town, and wandering slowly through the whitewashed, shop lined streets is a genuine treat. There are also a fantastic range of bars for your evening entertainment, but these are not filled with hedonistic tourists, as San Luis is still wonderfully ignored by the strains of mass tourism.

The beach of San Luis is a magnificent place to spend the day. Protected from the frequent winds by the Isla del Aire just off-shore and covered in fine golden sand, you can easily spend the day relaxing in the sun. Swimming in the sea is wonderfully refreshing, and there are plenty of opportunities for sailing, windsurfing and deep sea fishing excursions.

The annual San Luis Equine Fiesta in August is a huge attraction, drawing people to self catering San Luis accommodation from across the Balearic Islands and further afield. The main spectacle of the Equine Fiesta is the jaleo, one of the most impressive displays of horsemanship, skill and bravery in the equestrian calendar. Riders compete for a range of titles, and the event is finished of with a large, open air concert and an evening of festivities, well worth joining if you have managed to secure a San Luis villa for the week.

The bustling capital of Menorca, Mahon, is just 5km from a holiday rental property in San Luis. Mahon offers a vast range of entertainment, from the cosmopolitan shopping streets to the bustling sporting marina, wonderful markets to the awe-inspiring historical buildings of the original town centre. There is always something going on in Mahon, and if you can afford even one afternoon away from the beaches and unspoilt surroundings of your San Luis accommodation, a trip to Mahon is well worth the effort.
