San Venanzo is one of the top destinations for those seeking a relaxing break in one of Italy’s most rural regions. Self-caterers will be happy here as there are a decent selection of shops and small supermarkets in the village centre, all of which sell local favourites such as olive oils, cheeses, black truffles and wine. If you decide to head out for the evening you will find that local Orvieto wines are sold in almost every bar and restaurant, especially the dry, semi-sweet offering known as Orvieto Abboccato.
With fantastic weather to be enjoyed throughout the spring, summer and early autumn, many visitors to San Venanzo like to spend their daytimes outdoors. The local area is particularly good for walking, with densely wooded areas, rolling hills and olive groves characterizing the landscape. The village centre is also good for a walk, with many of its buildings dating back to the Middle Ages.

Also well worth a visit is the hill town of Todi (28km), which is often promoted as the ‘world’s most liveable city’ and has a plethora of sites that date back to the Roman times.
