Sargacal is a dream destination for golfers, with Palmares and Boa Vista 18-hole golf courses both less than a 5-km drive from the village. If that is not enough, there are also a whole host of others scattered across the Algarve, all of which are easily accessible from your Sargacal holiday home.

Sargacal is also very close to Meia Praia beach, the longest in the Algarve, less than a five-minute drive from the town. This is the ideal place for families on their summer holidays to head to, with plenty of activities available on the beach and beautiful stretches of golden sand.

Take a relaxing swim or snorkel around the surrounding bays, go diving on the reefs just off the coast, or go for a short spot of paragliding and enjoy the fantastic views along the coast. Sailing is also a pleasant way to spend the day, or learn about the local marine life on a dolphin safari.

Although often neglected by holiday makers, inland Portugal is also very pleasant, and the area around Sargacal is a great place for hiking or cycling. The South West Atlantic Coast National Park is also a great place to head for the day, with opportunities for walking and horse riding less than 20km from the village.

The nearest main town to Sargacal is Lagos, just 7km towards the coast. With its cobbled streets and traditional restaurants are a welcome contrast to the much more developed tourist areas in the other resorts along the Algarve coastline. The old town has an abundance of heritage sites, as well as a good selection of fashionable boutiques and sidewalk cafes which ensure something for everyone.

The weather in the Algarve is mild all year round, with little rain and lots of sunshine. Summers are long and quite warm, with temperatures over 20C on most days between May and October, while winters rarely reach below 10C. This makes Sargacal a great destination for a winter escape as well as a fantastic family summer holiday.

Flights to Sargacal, Portugal

Sargacal is served by Faro Airport (FAO) although this is almost 90km along the coast. Most of the UK’s airlines fly to Faro, including British Airways, easyJet and Ryanair, with flights on a daily basis. Car hire is available from the airport and is the easiest way to travel to your self-catering accommodation in Sargacal.

The Villa was really nice and spacious with 4 big bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and huge living room. The furniture was also very nice. Location near Lagos is nice, you could reach all supermarkets, shops...
