Taormina is located centrally between the two cities of Catania and Messina, and both make an attractive day trip for visitors. Catania too offers visitors the chance to view many Greek and Roman ruins as well as numerous churches, squares, parks and gardens.

Taormina has hot, dry summers, with temperatures sitting between 20C and 30C in June, July and August. Temperatures remain mild in the winter, usually staying above 10C, although rainfall increases dramatically between October and January.

This is the main airport in Southwest Italy and is well served by many European national airlines as well as several budget airlines.
