Make a holiday rental home or villa in Madagascar your home away from home

Every corner of Madagascar offers a new slice of magic. With thick, wildlife filled rainforests, delightful beaches and stunning rock formations, Madagascar travel guides are filled with ideas for magnificently memorable holidays. Madagascar is a huge island nation (the fourth largest island in the world), located off the south east coast of Africa, with stunningly unique landscapes, a rich culture and a hugely enviable climate, all of which combine to make Madagascar a tourism hotspot.

Things to do in Madagascar

Tourism in Madagascar offers everything to all people. It is the Madagascar rainforest and great range of wildlife in Madagascar that often excites potential visitors, and the enormous wealth of unique rainforest in Madagascar is certainly worth exploring. Lemurs are the most famous of the Madagascar wildlife, and there is an enormous amount to see throughout the palm tree lined beaches, grassy plateaus, volcanic peaks and vast open rainforests of Madagascar. The island is one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world, with over 200,000 species found on the island, 150,000 of which are completely unique, found nowhere else on the planet, including the famous lemurs.

There are hugely renowned national parks in the island, brimming with wildlife, and offering some of the world’s most incredible hiking, trekking and cycling, where wildlife is unavoidable. Natural history holidays could not be more fascinating than they are from a Madagascar holiday rental.

There are also some 5,000km of coastline and 200 small islands, which means that there are plenty of beaches in Madagascar to choose from should you wish to stretch out on the sand. The beaches consist of beautiful fine white sand, backed by lush palm trees, and although this sounds like a cliché, the famous scenery of an iconic tropical beach could have been taken on any of Madagascar’s beaches. Sailing and deep sea fishing holidays in Madagascar are absolutely phenomenal too.

Weather in Madagascar

The summer months in Madagascar (November until March) are hot. Madagascar tourism tends to slow slightly during the height of summer as temperatures can become almost too hot to really get the most out of this remarkable island. November to March, although being the hottest months, are also the wettest, and many people prefer to take Madagascar holidays between April and October, when rain is rare, skies are clear and temperatures more conducive to hiking in the Madagascar rainforest, spotting wildlife and enjoying a little activity on the beaches.

Cheap flights to Madagascar

There are no direct flights from the UK to Madagascar, although holidays to Madagascar are still very easy to take. The island’s capital, Antananarivo, has an international airport that receives flights from across Africa and much of Europe, including Paris Orly (ORY) and Milan (MLP).
