The village has all the facilities you need to enjoy a wonderful self catering holiday in Spain. Pinos del Valle is split into two parts, one containing the main shops and supermarket, and the other more residential, housing a number of excellent restaurants and several bars, serving excellent local food as well as the beer and wine famous to Andalucia.
The gorge offers some excellent walking along both sides. There are local maps and guides for the best walking in the Lecrin Valley, and there are a huge range of walks to be done. The red and white strips painted onto posts, walls and even trees mark public walking routes if you would prefer to take to the hills without a guide.
There are a couple of fantastic festivals in the village every year. These rural festivals are a huge celebration of local life, where the community all get together for a week of feasts, music, dancing and vast firework displays. The main, week long festival occurs in mid-August, which is probably the best time to visit a self catering Pinos del Valle holiday rental, and the other festival falls in May. If you are looking for a week of peace and quiet though, it is probably best to avoid these two periods!
Places to visit on holiday to Pinos del Valle, Spain
The cobbles streets of Saleras are a treat to discover. Mules and donkeys are still a regular part of life in Salernas due to the rough terrain and isolation of the town, and the ancient attractions look completely at home, especially the beautiful 16th century church and bell tower. There are some magnificent walking trails emanating from Salernas, travelling many miles into the Andalucian countryside. Fresh fruit, vegetables and crafts are sold on temporary market stalls in the streets every day of the week.
Weather in Pinos del Valle, Spain
The warm Mediterranean climate of Pinos del Valle means you can escape the good old British weather at any time of the year. The summers are really hot, with temperatures in July and August reaching up to 40˚C during the heat of the day. Walking and riding holidays can be taken throughout the year, as daily peak temperatures of less than 10˚C are very rare, but it between May and October, when monthly average temperatures climb to above 20˚C.

A holiday rental in Pinos del Valle is around an hour and a half from Malaga International Airport (AGP). The isolation of the Lecrin Valley is a huge part of the appeal, and as soon as you arrive at your Pinos del Valle holiday rental villa you will realise that the journey from the UK was well worth it.
