Hartland village was one of the largest royal manors in the Saxon time of King Alfred.

Today the village still preserves an individual character, encouraged by an active year long community which historically lives off the land and the sea. Nowadays it is a thriving community with artists and crafts people.

Close by, Hartland Quay; one of the most spectacular coastal scenery and geology in North West Europe, and of course, Hartland Point; one of the boldest headlands on the English Coast standing 350 feet above the sea!

The famous “Cathedral of North Devon” St Nectan’s church also lies on the peninsula.

For those of you who wish to venture a little further afield, the renowned Village of Clovelly is worth exploration. Here fascinating history, wonderful walks, traditional crafts and of course the famous Clovelly donkeys await you...

Nature lovers will be inspired by “ Beautiful Lundy Island” a precious jewel lying 12 miles off shore where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Bristol Channel with nothing between it and America.
