In the area is a beautiful Elizabethan garden which commemorates the Mayflower’s voyage.

Other rich historical areas include a different however equally short journey across the Rame Peninsula to Plymouth, in clear view of Kingsand beaches. In the 1500’s, the former Earl of Mount Edgcumbe constructed the Mount Edgcumbe House which was later damaged and renovated after WWII.
