A holiday rental home or a holiday cottage in Merseyside will help you cram more into your visit

Merseyside takes its name from the River Mersey and is situated in the north west of England in the UK. It is divided into five districts Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens and Wirral. Merseyside borders Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Places to holiday in Merseyside

Merseyside is popular with tourists and it is hard to believe that so many different tours, venues and attractions can be crammed into one county. It offers everything from a busy inner city life to rural villages and remote sandy beaches. Liverpool is at the heart of Merseyside, a city rich in culture, musical excellence, history, entertainment, sports venues and is a really exciting place to visit.

With so much to see and do it is no wonder that many holidaymakers choose self-catering accommodation over the usual hotels, motels and guest houses. Merseyside holiday cottages are really popular because they are homely, with all mod cons and allow people the freedom to plan their days out without time restrictions. The Merseyside News will keep you well informed and many estate agents have cottages to let.

Whether you enjoy contemporary or modern art, a visit to Merseyside is not complete without a walk around one of the numerous free to enter art galleries, such as the Lady Lever Art Gallery, the Liverpool Tate Gallery, the Walker Art Gallery and the Bluecoat Gallery. There are more national museums in Merseyside than anywhere else and a holiday cottage is the ideal base to sit and plan. A few choices include the Liverpool Museum, the Merseyside Maritime Museum, HM Customs & Excise National Museum and the Museum of Liverpool Life.
