Pensilva is a village in South East Cornwall. It has its own football club and is close to Liskeard, Looe and Polperro and convenient for the Tamar Bridge and the City of Plymouth in Devon, as well as Bodmin Moor and the south and north Cornish coasts. Pensilva evolved like neighbouring Minions and Darite because of the mining activity that was taking place on the moorland above. Pensilva only had one farm until the expanding mines needed accommodation to house its workforce. At this time the pub doubled as a hotel for visiting inspectors and speculators.

As the mining days came to an end people moved away from the area, but today these old miners cottages have been renovated and are now used as self-catering holiday cottages. The Millennium Commission has funded a new centre for the people of Pensilva, known as Century Square. It has an open learning centre, gym and fitness centre, arts and crafts room, sports hall with gallery, function room, sports fields and lounge and coffee bars. Every second Saturday the club is host to Pensilva farmers market and has craft stalls.

Siblyback Lake has fishing sailing and other water sports and the St Mellion Golf Course can be reached in fifteen minutes.
