Nestled in the top of a hill an overlooking a number of surrounding towns and villages, self-catering accommodation in Selva is the ideal place to enjoy a glass of local wine and take in the unspoilt scenery, unwinding from all of the stresses and strains of everyday life.

You won’t find any nightclubs or British-themed bars in this part of Majorca – evening entertainment it limited to a basic selection of traditional Spanish cafe-bars and small restaurants. Many visitors to Selva will be looking to self-caterer, however, so will likely need to head into next-door Inca to pick up supplies. The majority of the facilities can be found around the town square in the centre of the village. Here you will also find an attractive church and vital amenities such as banks, a health centre and a pharmacy, so you will not have to venture outside of the village for basic items.

Places to visit on holiday in Selva, Spain

Selva does not have a huge amount in the way of tourist attractions, so after a few days of relaxing you may decide to venture out and explore the island. The use of a hire car is a near-necessity in this part of Majorca, but thankfully can be picked up relatively cheaply upon arrival at Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI). More in the way of restaurants and shops can be found in the neighbouring town of Inca (5km), which also hosts a popular weekly market. The main road north from Inca also takes you into the Sierra de Tramuntana Mountain Range, which offers great opportunities for hiking, walking, horse riding and mountain biking.

Selva experiences a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers, and mild, slightly wet winters. Supply and demand means that the most popular months in which to visit – June, July and August – are also the most expensive, however, and you can get some good deals when visiting in early spring, when the weather is still warm and sunny, and prices are cheaper.

Flights to Selva, Spain

Palma de Mallorca (PMI) Airport is 40km south-west of Selva, a journey which takes a little over half an hour by hire car. A huge number of airlines fly here on a regular basis from the UK every year, with prices ranging from bargain basement to top-end. The best deals are usually found when booking online and well in advance.
