The neighbouring village of Homps, just a five minute drive away, sits on the Canal du Midi and offers a variety of water-based options for exploring the area such as hiring a small motorboat or barge. There are a number of other medieval villages and towns well worth visiting during your stay, with perhaps the most popular tourist destination being Carcassonne, 27km away, which is most recognisable for its well-preserved fortifications.
