All the local beaches are safe and perfect for swimming, and you can have the sand between your toes within 10 minutes of leaving your Spilia villa.
Beach lovers will be particularly pleased with the beach at the placid, timeless village of Kolimbara a mile or two down the road. The pebble beach is always spacious, and there are a handful of tavernas in which to sit and watch the sea.
A Spilia apartment is a great base for exploring Western Crete. There are many delightful villages in the area to explore, as well as some beautiful countryside. There is a huge amount of countryside to explore on foot too, with the Samaria Gorges being a real favourite with walkers and climbers.

Divided into two parts, Chania is one of the most beautiful places to explore in the whole of Crete. The narrow streets that surround the famous Venetian Harbour are a well known tourist favourite, but there are so many little shops, cafes and tavernas to find, that it is not only the more famous sights like the Dominican Monastery or Turkish Baths that will enthral visitors.

There are very few times of year when visiting a Spilia doesn't promise a week of blazing sunshine. The Mediterranean climate means hot, dry summers, with daily temperatures routinely in the 30's (C), and winters that remain wonderfully mild for that undisturbed break.
Flights to Spilia, Crete
