The highest point on the island, Mount Vigla, is easily climbable, and there are some truly breathtaking views across the Tyhrrenian Sea and the Greek Islands.

The huge Symi Festival, which lasts from July right through until September, is a hugely important event in Symi, and you will not be able to miss the vast range of dance, open air cinema, theatrical and classical concerts and events that occur most evenings. During this period, culture is wonderfully engrossing, and the great little restaurants that adorn the four villages serve the very best of traditional cuisine throughout the year. Fish is, of course, a huge part of the menu, and lunches are never rushed.
