Next to the Mar Menor, the 7km stretch of beach is renowned for its cleanliness and has won a number of EU Blue Flag awards over the last few years. This is also the area where you will find the best cafés and bars, as well as an array of shops stocking all the food, clothing and souvenirs you will need for your stay.

The centre of Torre Pacheco itself has a laid back atmosphere, and a much more traditional feel to it than the more frequented tourist destinations along the coast. Those seeking to acquaint themselves with the local lifestyle can do far worse than stroll around the village square and pick up some local produce to cook with once they return to their self-catering accommodation.

Torre Pacheco is well-positioned as the central point between popular tourist destinations such as Murcia (43km), Torrevieja (44km) and Cartagena (21km). With Cartagena being the closest of the trio it is a good place to start, and has a strong history as a maritime and naval centre that continues to this day.
