Explore the Costa Vincentina National Park, famous for its breathtaking natural beauty. It covers 80km of Atlantic coastline and is a natural habitat for a host of wild flowers, small animals and birds. Walk, cycle or drive through the Park.

Visit Portimao at the mouth of the River Arade. River cruises and game fishing trips can all be booked from here, so enjoy a day out on the water. On the first Monday of the month, Portimao holds a regional market.

Silves - One of the most historic attractions in the area is the town of Silves, marked by its imposing red sandstone castle. It has an interesting history dating back to the times of the Crusades, and is now a quiet market town surrounded by citrus groves.

Lagoa - Lagoa is a small provincial town which is easy to visit from your Vale da Telha villa. It is best known for its wine production. Tours of wineries are interesting and usually end with a tasting session. A great way to get to know your Portuguese wine and port!
