You will be taken past the most interesting sights, including chateaux, fountains and the five gates which give access to the town, each with their individual charm. This route will lead you to some of the nicest little pavement cafes and allow you to get your bearings. The Place Clemenceau is a beautiful little square, where you will undoubtedly spend a few hours sitting in a pavement café, watching the world go by and gazing at the beautiful church which stands on one side.

A Vence villa is perfectly suited to take advantage of three of the best national walking paths which cross the Cote d’Azur. The Balcony of the Cote d’Azur trail is one of the best in the area, providing stunning views along the coastline. There are over 200km of walking trails available from a Vence villa.

Vence has long been a Mecca for artists and poets, and is the proud owner of more contemporary art than anywhere else in France, including nearby Monaco and St-Paul-de-Vence.

Taking a self catering Vence villa is a real treat due to the huge weekly market which graces the town. Fish fresh from the Cote d’Azur, flowers, honey and vegetables are the local specialities, so be warned; you may put on a few inches around the waste whilst on your holiday!

Places to holiday in Vence, France

Nice is one of the most famous places on the Cote d’Azur. It has long been a glamorous resort town for the rich and famous to shop, eat, relax and sunbathe, surrounded by luxury yachts, fashionable boutiques, fine restaurants and glorious sunshine. Although the top class facilities which first gave Nice its exclusive atmosphere remain, many of the exclusive price tags have gone, meaning that trip to Nice from the peace of your Vence villa will not cost the earth.

Just a few miles away along the hills is the town of St Paul de Vence. Like Vence, this is a charming hill town with spectacular views and a quiet demeanour. The beautiful medieval architecture and artistic heritage is second only to Vence.
